Took place in Brasília the 2nd National Conference of Women’s Health, on august 17th to 20th. The conference gathered 1.800 precinct chiefs, who voted and debated several subjetcs at stake about women’s interests.

All propositions debated were approved with more than 90% of the votes. The discussions and propositions approved will serve as subsidy to draw the guidelines of the National Policy of Full Attention to Women’s Health.

The expectation of the National Health Council is that this conference acts as the confirmation of Social Control at SUS for women’s health, with the oportunity to reassure rights, ensure advances and point out challenges to the consolidation of PNAISM (Nacional Policy of Full Attention to Women’s Health).

Were debated propositions such as: Law of 60 days, Law of mammography over 40 years old, Law of breast reconstruction, and also the improvement of SISCAN (Cancer Information System).

The first National Conference of Women’s Health and Rights happened in 1986, and after 30 years resumes the discussions and gathers women to think the national health policy. The main goal is to create a political space for the debate of ideas which contribute to the advance of the social control of SUS and ensure full attention to women’s health without any discrimination and prejudice.
